The organization was founded in The Hague the Netherlands in 2004. The first race ever was slalom race that was held in Munich in the summer of 2004 at ISPO ground. This slalom event showed the huge potential for the sport. The second race was held in Portugal, which was a downhill off-road race. Riders from all over the world came to ride this extreme downhill race. There was a huge interest from the media for this new kind of extreme sport. The races even made it to the 8 o’clock news and was published in several sport magazines. The first snow 3CV was produced by "Trikke" and therefore a race was held in Stoos (Swiss) in march 2005. The summer of 2005 hosted two races, one in the Netherlands and one in Korea. Both races where endurance, with a dual slalom, 500 meter sprint and a 3000 meter group sprint. In the fall of 2005 three students have done research for the 3CV World Sports Federation. The question was very simple: what does the 3CV WSF need to do, to make the 3CV sport grow? The students have send out questionnaires, have held interviews and have observed during 3CV events. Furthermore they have studied the market in which the federation operates. After analyzing and cross referencing these results they were able to answer the question with an advice. The main advice for the 3CV WSF is that they need to focus more on the recreational side of the sport and less on the competition side. Around 62% of the current 3CV riders, ride for recreation or health and only 7% ride for competition. The board of the 3CV WSF has received this advice with open arms and they will focus more on the recreational side. This means that 2006 will be the start of an improved 3CV World Sports Federation.
